Race registration and the starting line will be located at the City of Norton’s Upper Reservoir Parking Lot, located about four miles above downtown Norton off State Route 619. See the above map for driving directions to the race starting line from any location.

There will be parking at the starting line. The race will begin and end at this location.

Directions to the Fit Farmer 12K Trail Run

From Tri-Cities: Travel US-23 north from Kingsport past Duffield and Big Stone Gap to the City of Norton. Take Exit 1 in Norton and turn right at the bottom of the ramp. Continue following this road (12th Street/State Route 619) for almost 2.3 miles until you reach a gravel parking lot on your left (about three-tenths of a mile past the main entrance to Flag Rock Recreation Area). Turn left. Park. You’re here!

From Abingdon/I-81: Travel US-19 north from Abingdon to Hansonville and turn left (west) onto US-58 Alt. Travel US 58 Alt approximately 36 miles from Hansonville, passing St. Paul and Coeburn, toward downtown Norton. Take the on-ramp for U.S. 23 South toward Big Stone Gap. Travel U.S. 23 for approximately 1.5 miles. Take Exit 1 and turn right at the bottom of the ramp. Continue following this road (12th Street/State Route 619) for almost 2.3 miles until you reach a gravel parking lot on your left (about three-tenths of a mile past the main entrance to Flag Rock Recreation Area). Turn left. Park. You’re here!

From Kentucky: Travel US-23 south, passing into Virginia at Pound Gap atop Pine Mountain, towards Norton. Travel about 19.5 miles from the state line on US-23 to Exit 1 in the City of Norton. Turn right at the bottom of the ramp onto 12th Street/State Route 619 and continue following this road up the mountain for almost 2.3 miles until you reach a gravel parking lot on your left (about three-tenths of a mile past the main entrance to Flag Rock Recreation Area). Turn left. Park. You’re here!
